JB Hi-Fi Helping Hands workplace giving program 

Started in May 2012, Helping Hands allows employees to donate to 6 charity partners through regular payroll deductions. All employee donations are matched by JB.

JB recognises its responsibility to give back to the community. We believe workplace giving is an efficient and effective way to give back.

Charities we support

		Youthline  Youthline is a first point of contact for young people and families to access a wide range of development and support services via centres throughout the country www.youthline.co.nz
		ShelterBox  Provides humanitarian relief in the form of equipment and materials that bring shelter, warmth and dignity to people made homeless by natural or other disasters worldwide. www.shelterbox.org.nz
		Kenzie’s Gift  Kenzies Gift provides community-based specialist practitioners to assist with the emotional stress that families affected by cancer are under. www.kenziesgift.com/visionandmission.html
		Plunket Plunket is an iconic New Zealand not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the development of healthy families. www.plunket.org.nz
		Forest & Bird Forest & Bird is the preeminent nature conservation charity in New Zealand and has been working to protect our unique native fauna and flora for almost a century. www.forestandbird.org.nz
		Music Helps Music Helps supports hundreds of projects across New Zealand including music therapy, music programs in respite and palliative care and music education programs to name a few.  They also provide emergency assistance to thousands of music people experiencing hardship and illness. www.musichelps.org.nz

Why these charities?

JB staff members selected the charity partners to be included in the program. The final choices cover a broad range of areas of social concern. The aim is to encourage staff to donate to smaller charities where the JB Hi-Fi staff and corporate donations would really make a big difference each month.

Is JB Hi-Fi looking for more charities to support?

JB Hi-Fi is not currently expanding the number of charities we support. Whilst we undertake an annual review of our charity partners, we prefer to focus our support on a limited number of organisations in order to maximise the benefit to our current commitments. This assurance provides our charities with the confidence that JB's ongoing sustainable support will allow them to develop long-term projects and ensure we help deliver their long-term vision & short term goals together.

How you can make a difference

Donate in-store

"Change For Change" is our store "spare change" donation program. Donation boxes are installed in all New Zealand stores to encourage our customers to donate some of their spare change to help change the lives of many. All donations are divided evenly between our charity partners.

JB Hi-Fi staff members 

Complete a form from using the QR code and have your donation automatically deducted from your wages, it's easy. Plus there's the added bonus of having JB match your donation $1 for $1 and employee donations are automatically eligible for charitable donation tax credits.
